PIERCER MARINE
MASTER OF
THE HIGH SEAS
THE PROBLEM
Discomfort
Travelling at speed or in poor conditions in conventional marine vessels is usually an uncomfortable experience!
Poor fuel efficiency
By virtue of their design, a great majority of marine vessels have extremely poor fuel economy.
THE SOLUTION
Our vision was to design a vessel capable of travelling in comfort at speed in challenging sea states (1.5m+ waves / chop), whilst also proving to be more fuel efficient than competing vessel types.
We have done just that, and in so doing designed a unique, bold challenge to the tired and formulaic world of powerboat design. A vessel where exceptional performance meets exquisite, progressive design.
The Piercer’s pioneering hull form vastly increases vessel seakeeping and stability, but also mean a significant reduction in drag when compared to rival hull forms. As a consequence of the very low drag, the Piercer has the potential to travel faster, further and in worse sea states than many traditionally hulled marine vessels.
The Piercer does not slam from wave to wave, nor does it pitch and roll, but pierces straight through, with passengers comfortably travelling through the waves.
The design is an innovative evolution of existing technology, and utilises off-the-shelf, proven technology in a revolutionary manner.
The Piercer hull form has significantly less contact with the water compared to rival hull forms, especially monohulls. By consequence the newly designed Piercer hull has very little drag and therefore, resistance. This decrease in drag and surface resistance enables the Piercer to offer unrivalled advantages in speed and fuel efficiency.
The diagram illustrates the Piercer hull form in green and a standard monohull in grey.
"...significantly more economical, substantially more comfortable to passengers and without doubt kinder to sensors and mission systems."
